Welcome to Chopin Society Singapore

ounded in Singapore by a group of Chopin’s music enthusiasts, Chopin Society (Singapore) is a non-profit organization registered under Singapore Societies Act in April 2009.

Our mission is to create a thriving environment for multi-cultural, multiethnic interaction linked by a common love for Chopin’s music, and to discover, support and develop young talented pianists in Singapore and in Southeast Asia.

Our goal is to promote and to nourish the entire spectrum of qualities inherent in Chopin’s music. In particular we wish to raise consciousness of the human, spiritual and emotional universe which goes beyond the purely physical, musicological and technical aspects.  It is our aspiration to share the cultural background of this music leading to the musical transcendence so prevalent in the compositions of this great Polish spirit.

Our objective is to improve access to the heritage of Chopin’s music and to support the young talents.

Our first major event was  1st International Chopin Piano Competition Singapore 2010, held December 1-5, 2010, at Lee Foundation Theater, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, SIngapore.

Our second major event is "The Black Rainbow- Children of Music for Children of Japan",  Charity Piano Recital in Support of Orphans of Tohoku Earthquake, Esplanade Recital Studio May 20, 2011- 7 PM. The concert will feature the sensational Prize Winners of the 1st International Chopin Piano Competition Singapore 2011.
